ALEXANDRIA, VA – Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is shocked by the devastating midair collision of an American Airlines passenger jet with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River in Alexandria, VA, the deadliest aviation disaster in the United States since 2009.
Our sincere condolences and prayers are with the families of the 67 people onboard both aircrafts. We also pray for the safety of the courageous first responders who have been working tirelessly in freezing temperatures and strong winds since last night during rescue and recovery efforts.
