On Saturday, volunteers in the South Bay were helping their neighbors to make it in the Bay.

The nonprofit Islamic Relief USA worked with volunteers at the Muslim Community Association in Santa Clara to put together 20,000 nonperishable meals.

Hundreds of volunteers filled boxes with rice, carrots, pinto beans, and seven spices.

The organization says it holds similar events throughout the year, bringing people together to fight hunger.
