Gaza’s health system has been steadily unraveling before our eyes, deteriorating with each passing year — half of hospitals and less than half of the primary health care centers are currently partially functional and face shortages of essential medical equipment and supplies. Doctors are overwhelmed, patients go untreated, and entire communities lack access to even the most basic medical care.
IRUSA is working across Gaza, and even Lebanon, to provide hearing aids to underserved children in need.
In 2024, we provided 142 hearing aids to 72 children and replaced cochlear implant devices for 39 children in Gaza.
In 2025, we performed 41 cochlear implant surgeries and established a state-of-the-art hearing center in Saida, Lebanon. In Gaza , we distributed 629 hearing aids to children and adults with hearing loss. Due to the siege that began in March 2025, there was a significant delay in delivery, yet the devices were successfully brought into Gaza in December 2025 following extensive logistical coordination with PAMA, UNDP, and the WHO.
