Building a Healthier World, Together

In our interconnected world, health has no borders. When one community struggles, we all do. Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) launched the Global Health Initiative to move beyond temporary fixes and build sustainable healthcare systems that protect generations to come.

Our 5-Pillar Strategy for Lasting Change:

  • Ground-Level Assessments: We work directly with emerging economies to identify urgent health priorities
  • Knowledge & Resource Transfer: We equip local hospitals with essential medicine, supplies, and technical biomedical support
  • Specialized Medical Missions: Our teams of doctors and nurses provide direct care while training local staff to boost regional capacity
  • 聽Systemic Development: We launch large-scale programs to break down the barriers that block access to care
  • 聽Impact Evaluation: We continuously measure our progress to ensure we are delivering the highest standard of care

Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) and USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, launched an expanded partnership to respond to the health needs of refugees in Jordan through the deployment of Medical Missions through the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA).

In November of 2025, IRUSA deployed a Medical Mission to Jordan to deliver comprehensive healthcare to Syrian refugees and Jordanian host communities to address acute cardiovascular conditions, and provide other services on an as-needed basis to fill the gaps and challenges faced by medical facilities and staff in Jordan. The locations served during the Medical Mission were Zaatari Camp, Azraq Camp, a Mobile Clinic in the city of Mafraq (an IRUSA-funded mobile clinic), and Jordan University Hospital.

IRUSA also deployed a Medical Mission to Pakistan at the beginning of December 2025. IRUSA worked with APPNA to deploy 10 physicians to medical sites in Muzaffargarh, Wazirabad, and Lahore. The first two sites were dedicated to cardio and vascular tertiary care (surgeries) while the third was more so dedicated to primary care consultations.

Our medical missions aim to bridge the gap where healthcare systems are overwhelmed, bringing immediate relief and long-term capacity-building to communities in need.聽
