It’s easy!
Go to https://volunteer.irusa.org/volunteer-sign-up and fill out all the required fields.
The age requirements for projects may fluctuate but most often a project is set for those that are 16 years or older. Some opportunities allow for those under 16 to attend with permission or supervision of an adult guardian.
Great question! Every time you volunteer with us, your volunteer portal is automatically updated with the hours you’ve completed. If you ever need something with a bit more detail, you can reach out to us and we can customize a letter for you.
We ask that you come in your IRUSA blue volunteer shirt – if you don’t have one yet, we will provide one on site! Be sure to check the project description for specifications on what to wear. For service projects, close-toed shoes are often required. Setting up info tables at a masjid requires appropriate masjid attire and fundraising dinners require business to business casual attire (always be sure to read the emails from your volunteer coordinator to make sure you know what to expect).
We are sorry to hear that you are no longer able to volunteer! In order to open up your volunteer spot to allow someone else the opportunity to volunteer, please login and remove yourself from the project or contact the volunteer coordinator.
A positive attitude! You don’t have to bring much to a project, we provide all the materials and supplies. We often have water bottles on site, but you are more than welcome to bring your own water bottle to a project. Keep in mind that some locations do not offer a place to leave personal belongings, and projects like meal packs will not allow you to drink water near the meal packing.
Go to irusa.org/volunteer and click “Volunteer Portal Login”.
You can either click reset password or email your local coordinator for help.
