Islamic Relief USA (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of every individual who engages with our organization. Islamic Relief USA is the controller of your personal information. Our Information Security Officer (ISO) within the IT Department is responsible for managing data privacy practices and responding to privacy inquiries.

We will provide a substantive response within 45 calendar days of receiving your request, or inform you of the reason and extension period (up to a total of 90 days) in writing.

We reserve the right to deny your request if we cannot verify your identity or an exemption applies. You may designate an authorized agent to submit your verified consumer request by providing written permission and verifying your identity, or through proof of power of attorney.

8. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

As a visitor to our Website, you may opt-out of our collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information through Cookies or other online tracking technologies that may be collected by or disclosed to our advertising and analytics partners.

Islamic Relief USA is headquartered in the United States and maintains its primary website servers there. While we accept international donations, our marketing activities and data processing are primarily governed by U.S. law. 

This website is controlled and operated by Islamic Relief USA from the United States and are not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the United States. As such, any information you provide will be transferred from your country of residence to Islamic Relief USA’s servers in the US.  

Where applicable, Islamic Relief USA complies with European Union (“EU”) data protection law when collecting, using, storing and otherwise processing your personal data (as defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”)).

10. SMS and Email Communications

By opting into SMS, you agree to receive automated texts from us. Message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Email communications include subscription preferences and unsubscribe links.

We use encryption technologies when transferring and receiving data from our Website, including the following technical and administrative safeguards including:

In addition, we have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss or misuse of information on the Website that we have collected from you. 12. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Islamic Relief USA does not intend to solicit information of any kind from children under 13 (or if being a ‘minor’ is defined as a higher or lower age in your relevant jurisdiction, that relevant age), and we have designed the Website to block our knowing acceptance of information from minors whenever age-related information is requested. 

It is possible that by fraud or deception we may receive information pertaining to minors. If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the notification, we will immediately obtain parental consent or otherwise delete the information from our servers.
