Washington, D.C. – Ramadan is the holiest month of the Islamic calendar and will end June 24, depending on sighting of the moon. Each day during this month, Muslims around the world abstained from food and drink between dawn and sunset. It was also a time to reflect on those less fortunate, such as those who are food insecure and hungry around the world, including here in the United States, and to provide families with food packages.
