" What A Relief Podcast ” 85: Behind the Music - A Conversation with Ghuydar BashmafB.C. Dodge & R. Mordant Mahon talk to Ghuydar Bashmaf in this episode of “What a Relief!” – IRUSA’s official podcast.

In this week’s episode, your hosting duo welcome the talented Ghuydar Bashmaf during the late hours of their marathon Podcast for Giving Tuesday.

Ghuydar is an American Muslim singer who was born and raised in Syria. He moved to the U.S at a young age and pursued a career in Engineering Technology, but singing and performing was along with him every step of the way.

“I’m a man with multi-identities,” he says, speaking of the intersections of his indentity. “I’m an IT analyst by day and Batman-I mean, a nasheed artist, by night. I’m a husband, a father, an organizer and many other things,” he says.

He was raised in Aleppo, Syria, a city known for its musical heritage in the Middle East, and began singing at an early age. Ghuydar is influenced by Arabic, Circassian, and Turkish musical traditions, and he sings in these languages as well.

In this episode, they discuss a wide range of topics, from children in need to the nasheeds that inspire Ghuydar. And this episode includes an extra special treat: a live performance of a nasheed. You don’t want to miss it!
