Alexandria, VA – Rep. John Yarmuth (D-03) of Kentucky will be the keynote speaker at Islamic Relief USA’s 3rd Annual Partnership Gala, which will take place at the Georgetown Marriot on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Yarmuth’s Congressional district, which encompasses Louisville and surrounding areas, is home to the Muhammad Ali Center, to which Islamic Relief USA gave a donation earlier this year, and various other entities that IRUSA has publicly supported. Earlier this year, IRUSA awarded one of its “Silver Anniversary” grants for a project based in the district.
The gala, formally titled “Building Bridges, Creating Community,” will serve as a celebration of various individuals from different faith groups, ideologies, and parts of the country coming together to make positive differences in their communities.
In addition to Yarmuth, who is Jewish, other individuals and groups who will be participating in the event include Catholic Relief Services, HIAS, Bread for the World, American Muslim Health Professionals, Shia Rights Watch, Church World Service, Catholic Charities, Alliance to End Hunger, Church of the Brethren, IMANA, Christian Connections for International Health, among many others.
