BURBANK, California (October 14, 2005) – A Pittsburg Mosque will be hosting a
fund-raising program for Pakistan earthquake victims as part of the Ramadan
fast-breaking services this Saturday, October 15.
Funds at the event will be collected by Islamic Relief, an international relief
and development organization which is carrying out emergency relief projects
for earthquake victims.
Islamic Relief representative Yousef Abdallah will be at the event for
comments or interviews with media professionals.

Islamic Relief has been working in Pakistan since 1992, and has a full-time
staff of over 100 in the country. Islamic Relief has three full-time offices near
the earthquake-affected areas in Islamabad, Neelum Valley, and
Muzaffarabad.
The death toll for Saturday’s devastating earthquake in South Asia has
reached over 40,000, and could still rise further.
Islamic Relief has launched a worldwide $10 million appeal for earthquake
victims, of which $4 million has already been allocated.
