Muslims, Christians and Jews Feed L.A. Homeless in Ramadan
What: (Los Angeles – 11/5/04) – Muslims, Christians and Jews will join
the Coalition to Preserve Humanity Dignity, to host the third annual
Humanitarian Day Health Fair for the Homeless in downtown Los Angeles on
Sunday, November 7th from 10 am – 2 pm at the corner of 5th and Towne.
The organizers will address the media at 11:00 AM about the event and
the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles.
The Coalition selected the month of Ramadan as a global observance that
transcends race and gender in a spirit of love, equality, and respect
for each other and all of humanity. Last year the Coalition
successfully served nearly 2,000 individuals and the goal is to double
this year.
The Health Fair will provide food, clothing, blankets, hygiene packs,
health screenings, and flu shots to the homeless community.
“We cannot eliminate this homeless problem but we can give the homeless
community hope and relief each year to ease their struggle,” said Imam
Saadiq Saafir of the Ibaadulllah Mosque in Los Angeles.
