“FLINT, MI – The Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV) will host its annual “Holiday Turkey Giveaway” for the Genesee County community this week ahead of Thanksgiving.
The event is set to take place beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at SBEV, located at 4119 N. Saginaw St., on the city’s north side.
The giveaway is open to the public and there will not be any registration or tickets needed. The first 200 cars will receive a turkey.
There will be a limit of one turkey per car, no exceptions. Cars will be directed by SBEV staff.
This annual event is in partnership with Islamic Relief USA, according to a news release.
SBEV is a Flint-based organization whose mission is to cultivate leadership capacity. It offers free year-round programming to youth ages 5-17 in the area.
The programs include academics, athletics, and the arts, taught by local professionals who dedicate their time to reinvesting their skills and knowledge and giving back to the young people.”
