ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 6, 2015 — Islamic Relief USA, a nonprofit charity providing humanitarian aid in more than three dozen countries including the United States, will be a co sponsor of and speaker at the World Bank Conference in DC this week, where faith leaders and international policy makers will collaborate to end extreme poverty.
The Religion and Sustainable Development Conference, will bring 130 international development policy makers, leaders of faith-based organizations, and scholars together to discuss collaboration between governments and faith-based organizations, and to frame actionable recommendations for strengthening partnerships.

The conference is organized by the Joint Learning Initiative on Faith and Local Communities in close collaboration with the World Bank Group Faith Initiative and co-hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development implemented by Gesellscheft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, the World Bank Group, the United States Agency for International Development, the United Kingdom Department for International Development, the GHR Foundation, and World Vision. It is co-sponsored by Catholic Medical Mission Board, Catholic Relief Services, Islamic Relief USA, Tearfund, and the American Jewish World Service, with in-kind contributions from IMA World Health and McKinsey and Company.
