Jordan’s economy is among the smallest in the region. With an insufficient supply of natural resources, the country relies heavily on foreign assistance. Chronic high unemployment rates, especially among youth and women, have taken its toll on the country. To add, Jordan plays host to a large population of refugees. As of last year, it’s home to 660,000 Syrian refugees as well as 2.3 million Palestinian refugees, many of whom lack access to basic needs and services.
IRUSA has been working in Jordan for decades. Our goal is to provide emergency and long-term aid not only to residents of Jordan, but Syrian and Palestinian refugees alike.
