In this throwback episode of the What A Relief Podcast, hosts B.C. Dodge and Mordant sit down Abdul-Malik Ahmad as part of the annual 24-Hour Podcast.

Abdul-Malik shares about Deen TV, an online TV channel based in Herndon, VA. He says that the channel now has multiple shows that they produce as well as showcasing talents of popular Muslim artists around the world.

One of their latest videos, “Rihla to Cuba,” is a 6-part documentary series covering the stories of Muslims in Cuba. The aim is to release more productions like this and shed light on parts of the community that don’t get a lot of attention.

Abdul-Malik shares his own personal experience and connection to the series, as the son of an immigrant from Cuba.

The conversation shifts throughout the episode to cover Abdul-Malik’s latest news with his popular band, Native Deen. Abdul-Malik is one of the three members of the band, and performs regularly with other stars such as Maher Zain and Harris J.
