Chechens are currently experiencing the worst of winter. Donors like you ensure that families in need are prepared to make it through the frigid temperatures. IRUSA uses donations to provide food, medical aid, water, blankets, mattresses, plastic sheeting, plastic mats, shoes, jackets, hats, sweatshirts, gloves, waterproof coats, socks, and more.

Sharing your warmth helps get them through the winter. Donate now.

Two wars tore through Chechnya during the 1990s and into the following decade, destroying the region’s economy, job market and civil infrastructure.

Inaccessibility to Chechnya has made it difficult for outside governments, human rights groups and nongovernmental organizations to gather more information about the situation in Chechnya.

Islamic Relief was one of the first aid agencies to assist Chechens affected by conflict in the mid-’90s and has been working in the Northern Caucasus since 1995. Islamic Relief responded immediately to help refugees—relief teams pitched tents for homeless families and provided them with food, water, clothes and wood. Recent projects have focused on helping vulnerable people — especially widows and orphans — develop a more secure livelihood through vocational training and grants for small businesses.

Please note: Donations made toward IRUSA’s Chechen fund may be used to support important emergency or long-term work across the country, or for Chechen refugees in other countries.
