BURBANK, California (April 28, 2005) – World-renowned Egyptian singer, Iman
El-Bahr Darwish, will be performing this Saturday to benefit the victims of the
humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Joining Darwish on stage will be Napoleon, a
rap artist formerly of Tupac Shakur’s Outlawz. Funds at the event will be
collected by Burbank, CA based charity Islamic Relief USA.
A popular Arabic singer in the Middle East, Darwish is making a tour of major
US cities performing at various benefit concerts. After performing in New York
and Boston, Detroit is the third stop on the tour.
The ongoing conflict in Palestine has created a humanitarian crisis, preventing
thousands of Palestinian families from living normal lives. Many have lost their
jobs and homes and are forced to live in poverty. According to the United
Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the decline in the well-being and quality of
life of Palestinian children has been rapid and profound.
