WINTER HITS HARD

Winter can make or break survival for any of us. And for our vulnerable sisters and brothers—those already suffering from poverty, displaced from their homes, with no warm clothes, food, or water—the freezing temperatures add another battle they have to fight to survive. They suddenly have to make decisions that pit whether to eat or whether to get heating fuel against each other.

This is no way to live.

Islamic Relief’s Dedication to Winter Aid

While winter is only one season, Islamic Relief USA works all year long to build programming that helps people living in poverty cope when the harsh weather comes. When donors like you give to our winter aid efforts, you make it so another sister or brother in need won’t have to choose between hunger or heat.

For the 2019-2020 winter season, IRUSA donors provided winter aid in places like Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chechnya, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Macedonia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Yemen, and for Syrian refugees.

Here’s just a sampling of our efforts for winter aid:

Distribution of warm clothes, mattresses, and blankets for families facing extreme cold in Afghanistan
Delivery of warming aid, including food, plastic tarps, and heaters for those affected by emergencies in Pakistan
Distribution of warm clothes and coats, blankets, food, and more to refugees and other vulnerable communities in Lebanon
