Job Title: VMO Research Intern
Status: Flexibility in start/end date; 3-5 hours per week
Department: Volunteer Management Office 
Location: Virtual

IRUSA is seeking a qualified individual with some experience or education in the field of research, development, and communication to assist in the Volunteer Management Office (VMO). This is an unpaid volunteer position, based virtually. The volunteer will work closely with our Volunteer Administrator to further the mission of Islamic Relief USA through research and development of an IRUSA chapter program including, but not limited to, the following:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in research and development of IRUSA chapter program
  • Research and document best practices for student led chapter programs
  • Update database to reflect MSA’s and other similar student groups across country (update records)
  • Communicate with local student organizations to learn about current chapter systems or to propose IRUSA chapter system
  • Collaborate with VMO regional coordinators and other staff regarding local student groups and potential chapters. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Independent and self motivated to perform tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Strong communication skills


Learning Outcome: 

Intern will gain invaluable project development and research experience, as well as insight into non-profit administration and volunteer management.
