“Homeless families in the Roanoke Valley will get some much needed help finding a place to live.
On Wednesday, The United Way of Roanoke received $40,000 from Islamic Relief USA to help fight homelessness.
Advocates hope this is the first step in helping end homelessness in the region.
‘Homelessness is a trauma. It’s a trauma experience,’ said Marie Muddiman, executive director of Family Promise of Greater Roanoke.”
