The following is an excerpt from an article posted in the Tapinto.net in Oct 2018: “Islamic Relief USA Hosts Fundraiser”
“EDISON, NJ – Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) will be hosting its annual fundraising dinner at the Pines Manor, in Edison, on October 20, from 6-9 pm. This inspirational night is dedicated to celebrating the achievements made throughout IRUSA’s programs and projects in Pakistan as part of a national IRUSA tour. The event will feature the Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, guest speaker Alina Afzal, who is a graduate of IRUSA’s orphan program, musician Salman Ahmed, and motivational speaker Azhar Azeez. A three course Halal dinner will also be provided.
“This fundraiser dinner will be benefiting our many programs in Pakistan, such as providing clean water and food, supporting orphans and widows and investing in local business initiatives to provide sustainable income. Show your support to the beautiful country of Pakistan and be part of this exceptional night” said organizers.
IRUSA describes itself as a community of humanitarians–staff, volunteers, affiliates, supporters, partners, donors–who have been working together for a better world for more than 20 years. Islamic Relief USA provides relief and development in a dignified manner regardless of gender, race, or religion, and works to empower individuals in their communities and give them a voice in the world.
According to its website, in 1993, Islamic Relief USA became an independent member of a global family of collaborating relief organizations that share a common vision, mission and family identity—connected through the use of the “Islamic Relief” name. Islamic Relief USA operates seven regional offices in the United States: in northern California, southern California, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia, which serves as its headquarters. These IRUSA offices have been serving to educate, inform, and raise awareness about our various relief and development projects for years. Additionally, IRUSA holds seminars, banquets, concerts, and other public awareness programs across the country to help fund domestic and international projects.
