BURBANK, California (September 9, 2005) – Dozens of volunteers from across
Southern California are gathering on Sunday, September 11 to sort clothes,
toys, canned food, and other in-kind donations thats have been collected by
the local Muslim community during the past week.
Islamic Relief, which is assisting displaced citizens from the Katrina disaster in
Houston, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, and the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, will be
sending the items to the affected areas for distribution.

The warehouse is located off of the 110 Freeway between the 10 Freeway
and the 105 Freeway. The warehouse is a red brick building located at the
corner of Avalon Ave and 62nd St.
Islamic Relief, an international relief and development organization with over
20 years of expertise in disaster relief, is helping Katrina victims in Houston,
TX, Baton Rouge, LA, and the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
Islamic Relief has already committed $2 million to Katrina disaster relief
projects, which include distribution of emergency aid, emergency shelter, and
relocation projects.
