HUMANITARIAN AID — Rising Up Against Hunger
Islamic Relief USA, a nonprofit humanitarian and advocacy organization, set up shop in Hayward on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, to help pack thousands of nutritious school meals. About 100 volunteers gathered at a warehouse on Tripaldi Way, to pack 20,000 meals of rice and soy that will be shipped to poor school students in several countries, many of which are in Africa. The meal-packing event is part of a partnership with another nonprofit organization, Rise Against Hunger.
