Islamic Relief is calling for urgent support for its emergency response to the escalating crisis in Iraq.
Millions in need of humanitarian aid
More than 3.4 million people have fled their homes and are currently living in camps and amongst host communities as a result of the fighting and around 10 million are in need of humanitarian aid.
Families that have fled or those that have returned home remain in desperate need of food, shelter, medicine and water. The situation is further exacerbated due to the armed ground operations in Mosul to retake the western side and the continuous random bombing in the area.
Islamic Relief is on the ground
Our teams are on the ground, distributing food and essential hygiene items to displaced people in camps including Debaga and Hassansham (near Mosul) and Amiriyat al-Fallujah (near Fallujah) and in Northern Iraq.
We are also supplying emergency shelter, both inside and outside camps, as well as providing counselling and other support for people who have suffered violence and abuse.
