This Ramadan, Palestinian MMA World Champion wants your help to feed 500 Palestinian families for a month through Islamic Relief.

FIGHTING FOR PALESTINE

Every fighter fights for something.  Some for notoriety, some for self-pride. MMA world champion Abdul Kareem Al-Selwady fights for his family and his country. Known to his opponents and his fans as the “Pride of Palestine”.

Abdul Kareem Al Selwady is the first MMA fighter from Palestine to compete and win the world championship title. The lightweight fighter who emerged from the refugee camps gives a new spark of hope for his people.

WHAT IS THE PRIDE OF PALESTINE TRYING TO DO?

I am a Palestinian and circumstances forced me to be a refugee in Jordan.  I am always humbled by the opportunity to represent Palestine as an athlete when I enter the ring.  When the bell rings I always want I always want to put on the best fight.  I want to show the people that stood alongside me during all my years of struggle that I did not forget.

Sports can make a difference in society, and once becoming a world class athlete you have a strong influence over your fans and society at large. When I go out into the ring I have to be discipline, respectful and have that commitment to never give up, all values of my deen.

I feel that when I compete, behind each punch and behind each throw I hit, there is the big voice of support for the Palestinians. They are very proud of me and I am very proud of them. I fight for them, so the world may learn their story. This happens a lot. I raise the flag of Palestine and people always ask me hey, what’s that flag and why do you raise it? That gives me the chance to tell my story and talk about my people and that is one of the main reasons I do it.  Now I am doing the same by trying to feed 500 families.

WHY ISLAMIC RELIEF
When Islamic Relief asked me to help them this Ramadan I saw an opportunity to give back to my people. They asked me to help train their supporters during the blessed month of Ramadan. I agreed, I then messaged all my clients that signed up for my virtual group training and told them I would give them a refund and instead support my cause in feeding those in need.

Seeing this world class organization always in the corner of those in need reminds me what I compete for. When I was a refugee I remember all those who supported me during my tough times, and now I want to help those underprivileged youth who strive to achieve their dreams by helping them and their families.

HELP MY PEOPLE AND I WILL HELP YOU
That is why I am featuring my workout programs to motivate and support families to stay in shape. Now I can do that and help provide a meal to my people. So please support my cause and donate Today.

Gyms might be closed but the training doesn’t stop. I have teamed up with Islamic Relief USA for the 30 for 30 campaign!

Join me, The Pride of Palestine AKA Abdul-Kareem AL-Selwady, MMA Champion for this campaign. You can now train with me from anywhere around the world for 30 minute workouts for 30 days in your home. Workouts include weight loss, toning muscle , increased cardio and strength !! The best part is that its free!! In the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, I only request that you donate to IRUSA to feed children around the world. For only $50 (Which would be average monthly gym membership cost) you can feed a family in need during the month of Ramadan. Help spread the joy of this blessed month by sending food to our Palestinian brothers and sisters in need.

DONATE TODAY

Right now, thousands of Palestinians face hunger, and with the current state due to the coronavirus, food is hard to reach. Through Islamic Relief you can send a food package to places hard to reach for families who really need it.

As we strive to perfect our iman this Ramadan, let’s remember the saying of our beloved Prophet (saw): “He is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor beside him goes hungry.” (Bukhari)
