On the day Pope Francis arrived in Washington, D.C., a diverse coalition of prominent religious leaders released a statement calling on the U.S. to shift national priorities in order to end hunger and poverty by 2030. The interfaith group welcomed Francis’s focus on poor and disadvantaged people and said America needs to change its priorities “so that our next president and Congress help put our nation and the world on track toward ending hunger.” Watch excerpts from the leaders’ Sept. 22 press conference and PBS interviews with Ruth Messinger, President of the American Jewish World Service; Rev.
