BURBANK, California (January 28, 2005) – Over 500 people are expected to
attend the “Eid Family Concert and Comedy Show,” organized by the Muslim
American Society at the California State University, Northridge Performing
Arts Center on Saturday, January 28.
The event is in commemoration of the Muslim “Eid” holiday, (Arabic
for “celebration”) which took place last week.
Acts from across the country will be performing music inspired by Islamic
values, in addition to a performance by internationally-recognized Muslim
comedian, Ahmed Ahmed. Ahmed was recently awarded the Richard Pryor
Ethnic Comedy Award.
Islamic Relief USA, a Burbank, California-based charity which is working in
Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India to assist victims of the recent tsunami, will
also make a presentation and collect funds.
