BURBANK, California (September 7, 2005) – Islamic Relief will be accepting in-
kind donations in the Southern California area for victims of Hurricane Katrina
between Wednesday, September 7 and Sunday, September 11.
Islamic Relief is requesting that all in-kind donations must be made by
Sunday, September 11 and that the contents of all of the donations be
clearly labeled.
Donations will be shipped to displaced citizens of Hurricane Katrina on
Monday, September 12.
The following items will be accepted:
– Canned food
– Bottled water
– Clean clothes for men, women, children, and babies (shoes must be brand-
new)
– Toys
– Diapers (must be brand-new, in its original packaging)
Islamic Relief, an international relief and development organization with over
20 years of expertise in disaster relief, is helping Katrina victims in Houston,
TX, Baton Rouge, LA, and the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
Islamic Relief has already committed $2 million to Katrina disaster relief
projects, which include distribution of emergency aid, emergency shelter, and
relocation projects.
