BURBANK, California (April 14, 2005) – Young Muslims for Faith and Action
along with Burbank, CA based charity Islamic Relief USA will be holding a fund-
raising dinner this Sunday to benefit “Children in Need” around the world. The
event will take place at the Muslim Community of the Western Suburbs
(MCWS) Canton mosque.
Among the speakers at the event is recognized Muslim leader Imam Johari
Abdul Malik from Washington, DC. In addition, Islamic Relief representative
Naeem Muhammad will be making a presentation about its relief and
development projects to help needy children in different countries.
UNICEF statistics show that out of 100 children, 26 will go unimmunized
against childhood diseases, 30 will suffer from malnutrition in their first five
years, and 17 will never go to school.
