IRUSA’s DRT assists in emergency situations around the country and, in rare occasions, in international emergency zones. IRUSA began providing this service in 2011, and since then, more than 1,000 IRUSA volunteers have been trained in conjunction with FEMA and the American Red Cross. DRT volunteers are trained locally so that they are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in times of emergency in their vicinities. Learn more on IRUSA.org/disasterresponse
Most recently, IRUSA’s DRT worked in emergency zones including Texas to help those affected by floods in Houston; in Louisiana to aid survivors of floods; and in Flint, MI, to provide vital clean water to those affected by a dirty water crisis.
