IRUSA provides grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the country, to provide access to quality health care; to promote sustainable socio-economic development; and to elevate the standard of living of those in need.

To apply for a grant from IRUSA, you will need to provide the following:

  • A concept note about your organization and proposed project

If your concept note is approved, you will be invited to apply. In the application, you will then need to provide:

  • Additional information about your organization with the application
  • IRS Tax exemption letter
  • Proof of valid state registration
  • A narrative and financial proposal that includes explanations about the following:
    • Why you are requesting the grant
    • How the grant will be used
    • What other financial resources are available to your organization

Now Accepting Concept Notes for the 2019 Grant Cycle!

To be considered for domestic grant funding from Islamic Relief USA, all applicants must now first send us a concept note by January 31, 2019.

If your concept note is approved, your organization will then be invited to apply as part of the full grant application process within the following annual cycle: February 1 – March 31. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Grant Priority Areas

Projects focused on the following areas will be given priority:

1) Refugee services and community integration

2) Disaster preparedness and resilience

3) Improved economic and social inclusion of marginalized and at-risk populations, including the following five subcategories: a. access to livelihood with case management and referrals support; b. food security; c. prevention of domestic violence; d. youth development; e. public awareness

4) Community health services and health promotion

5) Bridge-building activities that unite diverse groups to address community concerns
