Sharif Aly- CEO of IRUSA

Spearheaded & managed major IRUSA strategic advocacy campaigns focused on food security & livelihood programs, refugee resettlement, civil society & humanitarian access, as well as climate change & environmental policies.

Anwar Khan – President of IRUSA

The longest serving staff member in the organization, with his 25 years of experience he has become a subject-matter expert. Anwar Khan is a dynamic motivational speaker on various topics in the humanitarian and development sector.

Harriet Lewis – Senior Director Inner City Muslim Action Network (IMAN)

Harriet provides oversight to community/economic development initiatives and foundation engagement. Previously, she had been in executive leadership positions with organizations that serve women, small business owners, survivors of domestic violence, refugees and immigrants, and court-involved youth.

Sherif Ahmed- Vice President of Finance & Administration

Sherif oversees the daily operations of the organization.He has a BS and MBA degree in Economics and Statistics from Pace University Lubin School of Business.He is currently a PhD candidate studying Constitution- al Economics at the International University of Malaysia.

Rami Nashashibi – Executive Director Inner City Muslim Action Network (IMAN)

Ramiis a community leader building bridges across racial, religious, and socioeconomic divides to confront the challenges of poverty and disinvestment in urban communities.

Anne Wilson – Director of Programs

Anne has led/managed a wide range of programs, including refugee resettlement, children’s services, justice for immigrants, legal services, international social services, workforce and livelihoods, and public advocacy.

Najah Bazzy – Executive Director and Founder (Zaman International)

Najah is a Transcultural Clinical Nurse Specialist and Diversity Specialist. She is a global leader in Medical Ethics, Philanthropy, Nursing and Interfaith Dialogue and brings an ambassador style of diplomacy to her projects and life work.Bazzy was also given the CNN Heros Award for 2019.

Christina Tobias-Nahi – Vice President
of Communications & External Relations

Christina has been at the helm of public affairs since 2006. She holds a post-graduate certificate in Community-Based Development and an M.A. in International Relations from Boston University-Paris, where she spent two years working in Paris for the OECD. She then obtained her Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Tabinda Ghani

Tabinda has served in the nonprofit sector for over a decade in refugee resettlement, senior services and financial coaching. She holds a Master of Social Work alongside her MBA. Tabinda has extensive experience in program design & evaluation, strategic planning, fundraising, & partnership development.

Dr. Shariq Siddiqui – Indiana University

Serves as the visiting director & assistant professor of the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Ghulam Kehar – Associate Director of US Programs

Ghulam oversees the planning and implementation of all programmatic grants, seasonal grants, and partner organization activities. He co-founded and scaled a leading nonprofit, presented at 2 TEDx conferences and has given over 300 public presentations.

Abdullah Shawky – Regional US Programs Coordinator

Abdullah has been working with IRUSA for 6 years. He began as a volunteer & officially joined as staff with the Disaster Response Team as the Regional DRT Coordinator. In Jan. of 2019, Abdullah joined the US Programs Dept as the Regional US Programs Coordinator based out of the South Central Regional Office.

Jihad Saleh Williams – Senior Advocacy & Government Affairs Advisor

Jihad coordinates IRUSA’s advocacy and engagement with Congressional Offices, Executive Departments, and Embassies. His advocacy focuses on humanitarian issues such as ending hunger in the US and abroad, poverty alleviation, gender-based violence, and the annual Congressional budget & appropriations. Jihad has earned graduate degrees from Stanford and Princeton University.

Donia Abdalla – Regional US Programs

Donia joined IRUSA in March 2019 as the Regional US Programs Coordina- tor based in the Northeast Regional Office. She has skills in operational planning and project coordination through her experiences working in education and public health. Donia has her Master’s in Public Health from New York University.

David Hawa- Director of Communications
& Marketing

David is a communications professional with more than 18 years of experience in advertising, marketing, project management, video production, graphic design, public relations and web design.

Susan Ahmed – Regional US Programs

Susan has been with IRUSA since March 2019 and is based out of the Southern California office. Previously, she worked in a community based non-profit that provided direct social services to low income families. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Global Disease Biology with an emphasis in Public Health.

Abdullah Syed – US Network Manager

Abdullah started in faith based organizations working for Bayyinah Institute, managing the growing programs and launching new products. He also served as the Executive Director of A Continu- ous Charity before joining IRUSA as the US Network Manager in an attempt to serve our grantees beyond just grants.

Arif Jamil – US Grants Specialist

Arif has been with Islamic Relief USA since May of 2018. He began as the Programs Assistant and now manages domestic grants as the US Grants Specialist. He has vast experiences in nonprofit organizations and is fluent in six languages. He has a Master’s Degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution.
