History and Background

In 2018, Islamic Relief USA is celebrating 25 years of working together for a better world.

Islamic Relief USA™ was founded in 1993 in California as an independent and legally separate member of a global family of collaborating relief organizations that share a common vision, mission and family identity—connected through the use of the “Islamic Relief” name.

We provide humanitarian aid in the form of emergency relief and development work in the United States and more than 40 other countries around the world, serving millions of people each year.

Many individuals and organizations, like IRUSA, and coalitions like the Alliance to End Hunger are working together to build the public and political will to end hunger by supporting programs that encourage and assist with food and nutrition.

There are many ways you can do your own part to help with food and security, as you will notice through this guide.
