Job Title:       Event Coordinator Intern

IRUSA is seeking a qualified individual with some experience or education in the field of event coordination to assist in the Funds Department. This is an unpaid volunteer position, based at IRUSA’s office in Totowa, NJ. The Volunteer will work closely with our Event Coordinator and Development Coordinator to further the mission of Islamic Relief USA through events and various community outreach initiatives/tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Venue selection, negotiation, and processing of contracts
  • Volunteer outreach, recruitment, and engagement strategy for local office
  • Assist in creation and implementation of event promotion/marketing plan
  • Assist in Orphan Drive campaign and other online team fundraising page
  • Assist in budget creation and post-event reporting
  • Logistical planning for events and outreach projects
  • Communicate with vendors/sponsors for various organization activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualities of Ideal Intern:

Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Independent and Self Motivated to perform tasks accurately and efficiently
Ability to work on multiple events/projects simultaneously
Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to travel remotely
