WDRB Media: “Islamic Relief USA donates $100,000 to Louisville’s Muhammad Ali Center”

The Muhammad Ali Center has received a major donation from an Islamic non-profit humanitarian agency.

Islamic Relief USA has given $100,000 to the center on its 13th anniversary, according to a news release. The Alexandria, Virginia-based organization says its an effort to honor the legacy of Louisville's boxing legend.

Islamic Relief USA was acknowledged as a contributing partner along with the UN Trust Fund to end Violence against Women in Liberia. IRUSA entered the partnership as a pilot program and it is now being replicated through a three year $670,00 grant. The program will be concentrating on helping to promote the rights and safety of women and children so that communities can grow and thrive.
